I’m fairly new to Ruijie and still learning some of its quirks — and there certainly seem to be a few!
One issue I’m finding particularly frustrating is client location reporting. What should be a fairly simple task of finding where a client is connected can sometimes take much longer than expected.
For example, yesterday I searched for a wireless client and the client page showed it as connected to one AP, when it was actually connected to another. This remained incorrect for most of the day. Interestingly, the individual APs were showing the correct client information in the cloud, but the main client page had not updated to reflect the move.
I’ve seen something similar today with a wired device. The client page reported the device as being connected to the uplink interface of a switch on the gateway. In reality, it was connected to the switch at the other end of that uplink.
Again, the switch itself correctly showed where the client was connected, but the client page did not appear to update correctly — and certainly not dynamically.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a known delay with client topology/location information updating in Ruijie Cloud, or is there something I may be missing?
There are a few other quirks I’ve come across, but I’ll see how this one goes before opening that particular box!
