Original

Phenomenon

Wireless clients connected to an EW router(Home Wi-fi router) experience low speed when accessing the internet or have below expectation performance on speedtest.net

Possible cause

1. Low rate on the wired port of the router
2. Weak signal strength or low negotiation rate on wireless client

Troubleshooting Steps

1.Check if the WAN port has 1000M rate.

If the WAN port on the device only has 100M rate, check if the device is connected by non-CAT6 cable
or if the uplink device has 1000 T-based ports.
2.Check the signal strength(RSCP/RSSI) of the connected client

The signal strength can also be checked on a client device if you have Ruijie Reyee APP install on your mobile phone. When conducting the speed test, it is best to sure the testing device has signal strength above -65dbm.

If the signal strenghth is less than -75 dbm, heck if the RF power is set to maximum and try switching the radio to another channel. For 2.4 Ghz, you can choose from channel 1, 6, 11. For 5 Ghz, you can choose from any of the available channels.
